Yes, you read that right. I’ve had my fair share of fuck-ups: hungover and unable to focus on work, late to meetings and my work performance suffered. This was of course, during the first couple of months of my first job, and had to get my shit together because corporate just wasn’t college anymore. These are some tips that have helped me:
- Know what you want to drink
Always know the types of drink that you want regardless of where you are having your drinks at. This is so that you can order something safe for your friend as well, and allows you to set the mood for the night.
- Know your drinking limits and pay in cash
Always know the amount of alcohol your body can take before reaching its limit. If you are unsure of this, set a limit for yourself by paying for your drinks in cash so that you can track the amount of drinks you buy. Once your cash is finished, you are done drinking.
- Know when to stop
When it is time to stop drinking, there are social cues that indicate it is time to do so. Signs indicating you should stop drinking are being unable to walk properly, yelling at the bartender or picking a fight.
